Fauci Spreads Shameless Lie on Live TV

Fauci sits for an interview via U.S. Department of Health and Human Services

Appearing on CNN, Dr. Anthony Fauci found himself in a lie by demanding Americans still wear masks to protect themselves from COVID-19 while also acknowledging that studies show mask mandates do not make any difference in reducing the spread of respiratory illnesses.

Fauci agreed that the most rigorous and comprehensive analysis of scientific studies conducted and published on the efficacy of masks for reducing the spread of respiratory illness, including COVID-19, show there is “no evidence that masks make any difference.”

Nonetheless, Fauci still claimed without evidence that masks make a difference “on the individual level.” This is Fauci’s unscientific personal opinion, which contradicts the evidence. Opinion: Why Joe Biden Must Be Impeached

“CDC doesn’t mandate anything,” Fauci claimed. “I mean, recommends that people wear masks, I would hope that they abide by the recommendation and take into account the risk to themselves and to their families.”

“And again, we’re not talking there’s forcing anybody to do anything,” Fauci claimed.

CNN’s Michael Smerconish said, “Totally understood. There is a perception out there by many, how many, I don’t know, that they don’t work and that the data concludes that they didn’t work in the first go round. Respond to that on masks.”

“Yes, well, that’s not so. I mean, when you’re talking about at the population level, that the data are less strong than knowing that if you look on a situation as an individual protecting themselves or protecting them from spreading it there is no doubt that masks work,” Fauci awkwardly said. “Different studies give different percentages of advantage of wearing it,” Fauci continued. “But there’s no doubt that the weight of the studies, and there have been many studies indicate the benefit of wearing masks.”

Smerconish said, “I’m going to refer to one of them. You’ve heard about it before, I heard about it from a number of radio callers.”

“Bret Stephens in the ‘Times’ talked about Cochrane. Put that on the screen. ‘The most rigorous and comprehensive analysis of scientific studies conducted on the efficacy of masks for reducing the spread of respiratory illness, including COVID-19, was published last month, its conclusions, said Tom Jefferson, the Oxford epidemiologist who is the lead author, were unambiguous,'” he said.

“There is just no evidence that they masks make any difference,” Cochrane told the journalist Maryanne Demasi. “Full stop.”

Scrambling, Fauci responded, “Yes, but there are other studies, Michael, that show at an individual level for individual when you’re talking about the effect on the epidemic or the pandemic as a whole, the data are less strong.”

“But when you talk about as an individual basis of someone protecting themselves or protecting themselves from spreading it to others, there’s no doubt that there are many studies that show that there is an advantage.

“When you took it the broad population level like the Cochrane study, the data are less firm with regard to the effect on the overall pandemic,” Fauci said.

“But we’re not talking about that, we’re talking about an individual’s effect on their own safety. That’s a bit different than the broad population level.”

During the interview, Fauci expressed his hope that individuals would voluntarily heed recommendations from organizations like the CDC to wear masks when COVID-19 cases surge. He emphasized that these recommendations were not mandates but aimed at raising awareness of the risks to individuals and their families. Joe Biden Decides Whether to Wear A Mask Again

Smerconish questioned the common perception that masks are ineffective based on data from previous outbreaks. Fauci countered this notion, stating that when assessing masks’ efficacy, it’s crucial to distinguish between their impact at the population level and their benefits to individuals.

He affirmed that masks undeniably work when it comes to an individual’s protection or preventing the spread of the virus.

Fauci also addressed a specific study, the Cochrane review, which concluded that masks had no significant impact on reducing the spread of respiratory illnesses, including COVID-19. Fauci acknowledged this study but pointed out that other research contradicted its findings.

He stressed that while the data may be less conclusive when examining the effect of masks on the overall pandemic, it was clear that they offered advantages at the individual level, particularly in terms of personal safety and preventing transmission to others.

Fauci emphasized that, despite debates at the population level, masks undeniably provide an advantage when viewed from an individual’s perspective, both in terms of self-protection and limiting virus transmission.
