Hollywood Actress Blasts Celebrities’ Silence on Antisemitism

via CBS

Actress Julianna Margulies criticized Hollywood celebrities for their silence in the face of rising anti-Semitism following Hamas’ attacks on Israelis.

She expressed her disheartenment and questioned whether celebrities are afraid of losing social media followers if they take a stand against anti-Jewish bigotry.

Margulies called on others to use their platforms to draw attention to the issue. (Trending: Obama Says the Unthinkable to Israel)

While some Hollywood figures have condemned Hamas, there has been little pushback against pro-Hamas and anti-Semitic demonstrations.

The actress said she’s “disheartened” by the silence, and she’s “trying to understand and work around why every single person in our industry isn’t standing up. I don’t understand. It is shocking.”

“Maybe they are afraid?” Margulies continued. “I don’t know what they are afraid of. Losing followers? It’s just insane to me.” (Trending: Jimmy Kimmel Quietly Fired From Job)

“That’s not how I roll. Listen, the last thing I thought in my life was that I’d be the one actress speaking out for Jews. I hope I inspire other people to come out and talk and use their voice and use their platform to draw attention to this.”

Black Lives Matter leaders have endorsed Hamas, creating a dilemma for celebrities who previously supported the movement.

However, a small number of Hollywood stars, such as Noah Schnapp, have spoken out against supporting terrorism.
