A new civic pride campaign called “It All Starts Here” has been launched in San Francisco by non-profit organization Advance SF.

The campaign aims to promote the city as an innovative and thriving hub for business and the arts, countering the negative national narrative about San Francisco.

The campaign received funding from individuals like Bob Fisher and Chris Larsen, as well as involvement from companies like Levi Strauss, OpenAI, Uber, and Lyft.

Gap board member Bob Fisher and Ripple co-founder Chris Larsen given money to make “It All Starts Here” happen.

They are both billionaires – worth $1.2 billion and $2.9 billion respectively.

Reports have said it cost $4 million.

“San Francisco has survived great fires, earthquakes and deep recessions, and it keeps coming back – stronger,” San Francisco Giants CEO and Advance SF board co-chair Larry Baer said in a press release.

“There is no doubt, we have real challenges to overcome, and we know the business community, along with the local community and government, must drive the solutions. With this campaign, we’re creating a spark so that people say, ‘Let’s do this together, because San Francisco is an amazing city and ‘it all starts here.’”

The cost of the campaign is estimated to be $4 million.

San Francisco has faced challenges such as homelessness, crime, and the exit of companies from the downtown area.

However, the city’s office space market is expected to rebound next year.

The campaign utilizes billboards, posters, digital media, and a video ad to showcase the city’s technological and cultural innovations.

The campaign coincides with the upcoming Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation leaders’ meeting in San Francisco.
