CNN star anchor Jake Tapper may be realizing that his popularity is dwindling with viewers as his latest novel, “All the Demons Are Here,” sold fewer than 5,000 copies in its first week on the market. Despite constant promotion from celebrities and an aggressive marketing campaign, the book recorded dismal sales.
RadarOnline.com described the sales figures as “shockingly low.” Tapper, who hosts “The Lead with Jake Tapper” on CNN, has had better luck in the past.
His first novel, “The Hellfire Club,” was published in 2018 and reached No. 3 on the New York Times Best Sellers list for Hardcover Fiction.

In recent years, multiple political books generated very low sales. Democratic Rep. Cori Bush of Missouri published a political memoir in 2022 titled “The Forerunner: A Story of Pain and Perseverance in America.” It reportedly sold 1,017 copies.
Even worse, authors Darlene Superville and Julie Pace co-wrote a book about first lady Jill Biden titled, “Jill: A Biography of the First Lady.” It reportedly only sold 250 copies in its first week.

Born in New York City in 1970, Tapper graduated from Dartmouth College in 1992 and worked as a reporter for The Washington City Paper and The New York Times before joining ABC News in 2001. At ABC, he covered the 2004 presidential election and the Iraq War.
Tapper eventually joined CNN in 2007 and became one of the network’s most top journalists. He has won numerous awards for his reporting, including two Emmy Awards and the George Polk Award.
CNN as a network has struggled immensely under Tapper. A 2022 poll by the Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research found that 43% of Americans do not trust CNN to report the news fairly and accurately.
According to a 2023 poll by Gallup, CNN is the most trusted news source for Democrats at 73%. In comparison, only 30% of Republicans trust CNN, which puts the network in 10th place among trusted news sources of Republicans.
