During a sworn deposition, FBI special agent Elvis Chan claimed the bureau and big tech companies only had one meeting regarding the Hunter Biden laptop story.
In a bombshell development, Meta Inc. was served with a subpoena from Congress to provide their private email correspondence with the FBI.

Republican Rep. Jim Jordan of Ohio says the politicized FBI has lied to the American people to protect Democrats and the Biden family. The internal communications reveal that the FBI had extensive meetings with Facebook. Chan himself had more than one meeting with Facebook, which directly contradicts his testimony.
Chan also testified of having no knowledge about the Hunter Biden laptop investigation. Again, this contradicts what Chan privately told Facebook behind closed doors. In the months leading up to the 2020 presidential election, the FBI and big tech companies wrongfully censored information about Hunter’s laptop.
“The laptop was real, and the FBI knew it,” said Rep. Jordan on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter. “The FBI had the laptop since December 2019. Is there any wonder why the Biden DOJ has so far stonewalled the Committee’s efforts to interview Agent Chan?”
In 2022, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg revealed that he algorithmically censored the Hunter Biden laptop story based on a general request from the FBI to restrict election misinformation.

The New York Post had initially published the exposé on Hunter’s emails, but this was wrongfully censored. Liberals were willing to do anything to help get Joe Biden elected and sway the outcome of the election — even if it meant pushing blatant lies on Americans under the guise of “truth” and “fact-checking.”
Fact-checkers wrongfully buried the story, labeling it “false.” On Meta Inc., the power of fact-checking is left in the hands of an elite few. There are 10 verified fact-checkers in the U.S. who can decide at their sole discretion whether to censor information on Facebook and Instagram. There are no checks and balances on this process to prevent fact-checkers themselves from making mistakes. Even the fact-checkers themselves will disagree with each other.
USA Today and PolitiFact, for example, lean in support of liberal Democrats and were willing to censor the Hunter Biden laptop story. “Check Your Fact,” on the other hand, is also a verified fact-checker on Facebook that is owned by the conservative news outlet The Daily Caller Inc. Naturally, this fact-checker refused to censor the Hunter Biden laptop story and they were right.
The problem isn’t simply the Hunter Biden laptop story. Americans have been censored from discussing anything politically inconvenient for Democrats, such as the risks of the COVID-19 vaccine or the possibly of fraud in the 2020 presidential election. An employee warned Zuckerberg over email in April 2021 by saying, “We are facing continued pressure from external stakeholders, including the White House and the press, to remove more COVID-19 vaccine discouraging content.”
In another email, Facebook’s president of global affaris, Nick Clegg, said that senior White House health official named Andy Slavitt is “outraged” over the anti-vaccine content.
“Never-before-released internal documents subpoenaed by the Judiciary Committee PROVE that Facebook and Instagram censored posts and changed their content moderation policies because of unconstitutional pressure from the Biden White House,” Jordan explained.
In 2021, the Biden White House was “outraged” about a meme posted to Facebook that discouraged Americans from receiving the COVID-19 vaccine. Here’s the meme:

The meme reads, “10 years from now you will be watching TV and hear… ‘Did you or a loved one take the covid vaccine? You may be entitled…’” This meme was simply too much to bear for the Biden administration. They demanded that Facebook censor Americans.
Zuckerberg and Facebook complied with the White House and changed its policies on COVID-19 and vaccine misinformation in order to censor more people.

In one instance, Facebook curtailed the reach of then-Fox News host Tucker Carlson even though Carlson’s information about the vaccine was truthful and did not violate Facebook’s COVID-19 policy.
Republican Rep. Jim Jordan said the Facebook emails “prove that the Biden Admin abused its powers to coerce Facebook into censoring Americans, preventing free and open discourse on issues of critical public importance.”
Zuckerberg initially denied to provide the communication related to government’s pressure to censor Americans until he faced contempt. The contempt effort is currently paused, but may resume if Facebook fails to continue cooperating, Rep. Jordan explained.
