POLL: Is CNN ‘Fake News’?

A 2023 Gallup poll found that only 36% of Americans have a great deal or fair amount of trust in major news outlets. This is the second lowest level of trust in the media since Gallup began tracking this question in 1997.

🚨 POLL: Is CNN ‘Fake News’?
YES 👍 or NO 👎

In August 2023, CNN conducted a poll about its own network and found that 54% of Americans have an unfavorable view. This is a decline from January 2023 when 45% of Americans had a favorable view. The same poll found that 63% of Americans believe that CNN is biased against Republicans.

This is significant because former President Donald Trump has consistently claimed the network was politically biased and treated him unfairly compared to the network’s coverage of Joe Biden and other Democrats.

In March 2023, another poll found that 57% of Americans believe that CNN is more interested in ratings than in providing accurate news. Again, this is an increase from January 2023 when 54% of Americans believed that it was more interested in ratings than in providing accurate news.

In recent years, scandal-plagued CNN has forced out a number of high-profile employees in disgrace. This includes anchors Don Lemon and Chris Cuomo, former CNN president Jeff Zucker, senior producer John Griffin, producer Rick Saleeby, supervising producer Steve Brusk, host Elliot Spitzer, and legal analyst Jeffrey Toobin.

In May 2023, CNN held a town hall event with former President Donald Trump. This proved too much to bear for the left-wing network. Star CNN anchor Anderson Cooper was outraged over the event and suggested to viewers that they have a right to “never watch this network again.”

Following the backlash, CNN Chairman and CEO Chris Licht stepped down in less than one month later in June 2023.

The downward spiral for CNN is worsening as other smaller networks have begun beating CNN in prime-time ratings.

During the crucial 8-10 p.m. ET time slots, Newsmax netted 709,000 viewers during the 8-9 p.m. hour of “Eric Bolling the Balance” compared to 640,000 for CNN’s “Anderson Cooper 360” airing at the same time.

Nielsen ratings revealed that Newsmax brought in 610,000 viewers in the overall 8-10 p.m. slot. In comparison, CNN drew 582,000 viewers.

“Newsmax’s victories during these key prime-time hours are even more impressive because CNN is carried in 25 million more homes,” the report found. “Newsmax’s ratings were bolstered during Bolling’s show when the network aired live former President Donald Trump’s speech in Alabama, with the event ending at 9:15 p.m. ET,” the report added.
