A Pennsylvania high school quarterback named Mason Martin suddenly collapsed during the third quarter and was airlifted to UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh.
Referee Mike Vasbiner was quick to notice the incident, as he observed Mason Martin staggering and immediately approached the quarterback.
When Vasbiner asked about Martin’s condition, the quarterback’s response of “No” indicated a serious issue.
The game was abruptly called off, with Redbank Valley declared the winner, leading 35-6 at the time of the incident.
Tragically, Martin’s family disclosed that their son had suffered not only a “significant brain bleed” but also a collapsed lung.
The severity of his condition raised concerns and prayers from the community.
In an effort to provide updates and rally support, the high school football team shared a message from Martin’s mother on their social media platforms, keeping the concerned public informed about his condition and progress.
“Mason remains in critical condition with little change over the last 36 hours,” And “The truth is we need a miracle. I’m not saying that to sound grim, but to let you know that we need the strength of your prayers.”
