Late-night host Stephen Colbert has contracted COVID-19 for the second time, causing a halt in the filming of his CBS show, “The Late Show.”
The 57-year-old still contracted the virus despite three doses of the COVID-19 vaccine.
Initially planning to record from home, Colbert later announced that he would be out for the rest of the week due to doctor’s orders. (Poll: Should People Receive the New COVID Shot? VOTE)
A message from Stephen:
Sorry to say, per doctor’s orders, I’m going to be out for the rest of the week. Resting up so that I can deliver the hand crafted, artisanal talk show that we so enjoy serving you. This is not Colbert’s first encounter with the virus, as he had it in April 2022 and had to cancel shows.
“Sorry to say, per doctor’s orders, I’m going to be out for the rest of the week,” he said in a statement on the show’s X social media account.
“Resting up so that I can deliver the hand crafted, artisanal talk show that we so enjoy serving you,” Colbert continued.
“In the meantime, a heady blend of Paxlovid and onions in my socks (thank you, Fallon) will be rebuilding my immune system,” he said, referring to NBC late-night host Jimmy Fallon.
Colbert is known as far-left Democrat who promoted the lies of Dr. Anthony Fauci and Joe Biden, particularly related to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Stephen is experiencing symptoms consistent with a recurrence of COVID. Out of an abundance of caution for his staff, guests, and audience, he will be isolating for a few additional days. The Late Show will not be taping new episodes until further notice.
