President Joe Biden signed an executive order that aims to incorporate the principles of Critical Race Theory (CRT) and equity into the development of AI.
The order requires AI tools used in the health and human services sector to have equity principles embedded in them.
It also emphasizes addressing algorithmic discrimination and bias, protecting civil rights, and enforcing consumer protection laws in AI development.

The Executive Order calls for the “incorporation of equity principles in AI-enabled technologies used in the health and human services sector, using disaggregated data on affected populations and representative population data sets when developing new models, monitoring algorithmic performance against discrimination and bias in existing models, and helping to identify and mitigate discrimination and bias in current systems.”
Christopher Rufo of The Manhattan Institute’s City Journal posted X, “President Biden has signed an executive order that will require AI companies to “address algorithmic discrimination” and “ensure that AI advances equity.”
“They want to embed the principles of CRT and DEI into every aspect of AI.”
The order does not mention government-driven censorship, raising concerns about the administration’s focus on left-leaning identitarian visions of race and gender.
