A recent poll reveals that a majority of voters see the opposing political party as the greatest threat to the nation.
This crisis of faith in democracy is fueled by the constant portrayal of the opposing party as traitors and the constitutional system as flawed.
The University of Virginia Center for Politics found that 52% of Biden supporters say Republicans are now a threat to American life. (Trending: Chilling Video of Muslim Mob Yelling ‘Allahu Akbar’ In Hunt For Jews)
47% of Trump supporters say the same about Democrats.
Intellectual and political elites, along with the media, contribute to this loss of faith by criticizing and calling for radical alterations to the Constitution.
Politicians have also challenged constitutional values and institutions, further eroding trust.
Despite this growing hostility, there is significant hope in newly elected House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) who gave glory to God following his being elected as Speaker, which was confirmed following an unanimous Republican vote. (Trending: Two Democrats Arrested and Charged)
This sort of unifying vote has not occurred in 12 years.
“I want to tell all my colleagues here what I told the Republicans in that room last night; I don’t believe there are any coincidences in a matter like this,” Johnson began.
“I believe that Scripture, the Bible, is very clear that God is the one that raises up those in authority. He raised up each of you, all of us, and I believe that God has ordained and allowed each one of us to be brought here for this specific moment in this time,” he said in reference to Romans chapter 13 of the Bible. “This is my belief. I believe that each one of us has a huge responsibility today to use the gifts that God has given us to serve the extraordinary people of this great country — and they deserve it — and to ensure that our republic remains standing as the great beacon of light and hope and freedom in a world that desperately needs it.”
Johnson then addressed the first bill he would pass, which would secure funding for Israel’s fight against Hamas terrorists.
“The first bill that I’m gonna bring to this floor in just a little while will be in support of our dear, dear friend Israel, and we’re overdue. And given that, we’re going to show not only Israel but the entire world that the barbarism of Hamas that we have all seen play out on our television screens is wretched and wrong. And we’re going to stand for the good in that conflict.” (Trending: Dirty Trick Inside Biden’s $100 Billion Bill)
GOP lawmakers expressed unity and support for Johnson’s leadership, with some highlighting his intellect and character.

Lawmakers expressed confidence in the unity and mission of the party moving forward.
Rep. Michael Cloud, R-Texas, said, “I think it was important to make sure that we got the right person for the American people.”
“Mike is honest, hardworking, and principled — he is a great man and will make a great speaker. I look forward to continuing to work with my good friend to get this country back on track and deliver results for American families who deserve better from Washington,” Scalise said in a statement.
